Paul Osteen is an American vascular surgeon and medical missionary. He is also the brother of American lay preacher, televangelist, businessman, and author Joel Scott Osteen and the son of the late American pastor and founding pastor of Lakewood Church John Hillery Osteen. Paul’s brother Joel Osteen is one of the most prominent figures associated with prosperity theology and a focus of its critics.

Paul Osteen is not his parents’ only child. He has four biological siblings and a half-sibling. His biological siblings are Joel Osteen, Lisa Osteen, April Osteen Simons, and Tamara Osteen. His half-brother Justin Osteen was born from his father’s first marriage to Emma Jean Shaffer. His biological siblings are involved in full-time ministry, and his half-brother Justin got involved in missionary work.

He went on a medical mission trip after which he was compelled to make use of his trained surgery skills to help those who lack access to medical care.
Paul Osteen Is Involved In Humanitarian Work
Dr. Paul Osteen opted to turn his attention to the lack of basic surgical care for those in Sub-Saharan Africa. He partnered with Christian aid organizations like Samaritan’s Purse and World Vision and travels to rural parts of Zambia and Kenya to provide surgical care, deliver medical equipment, and train new doctors for communities otherwise isolated from healthcare.

Dr. Paul Osteen once said in an interview about the role of the church in the fight against medical poverty: “We, as the American church, can’t get so insulated that we forget poor, suffering people. If we in the church become so religious we look the other way, it’s a sad thing.”
Dr. Paul Osteen serves on teams that respond to immediate disasters, like the Iraq refugee crisis, and often travels to areas suffering immediately after catastrophic events transpire. Also, he is the founder of a medical conference for missionary work, called the M3 Conference (2016). The goal of the conference is to connect medical workers with organizations working to relieve poverty in least-developed countries.
Dr. Paul Osteen said the conference is one ‘that would gather healthcare professionals who want to use their gifts, talents, and training to help people in parts of the world with little or no access to healthcare. A conference designed for people interested in providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, or an interest in orphan care or human trafficking. A conference for people with hearts and hands that are ready and willing to serve.’
Paul Osteen Has Been Married For More Than Two Decades
Dr. Paul Osteen is a happily married man who has his own family. The proud family man has been married to his wife Jennifer Osteen, a registered nurse since 1994. It has been more than 20 years since they got married. Their marriage which has lasted for almost three decades has been blessed with four children. They are enjoying a blissful married life without any sign of divorce. The couple co-founded the Mobilizing Medical Missions (M3) Conference.
