El Chapo was imprisoned in ADX Florence, the most secure US supermax prison. Armida Guzmán Loera’s brother Arturo Guzmán Loera was assassinated in prison with a pistol. He was shot seven times and the bullets lodged in his chest, abdomen, and spinal cord. He was murdered by the Juarez Cartel in retaliation for the murder of Rodolfo Carrillo Fuentes, with Rodolfo’s brother Vicente Carrillo Fuentes ordering the hit. He died on 31 December 2004.
