Michael’s wife is Angela Bowie, an American actress, and journalist. She was born Mary Angela Barnett on September 25, 1949, in Ayios Dhometios, Nicosia, British Cyprus. She is an American citizen born to Col. George M. Barnett, a United States Army veteran, and Helena Maria Galas Barnett, a naturalized Canadian.
Her parents are both deceased. They died in 1984. She has one brother. She enrolled at a school in Cyprus, Switzerland, and the UK (Kingston Polytechnic). She attended Connecticut College for a short period and was expelled after she had an affair with a girl, an event mentioned in her 1981 autobiography Free Spirit.
