She has claimed that her father George Lazenby “tormented me, humiliated me, hurt me physically, scarred me emotionally’ and ‘placed a feeling of fear and mistrust in me”. Melanie reportedly suffered from anorexia and bulimia from the age of 16.
Melanie’s father George said he was “sorry that he ignored Melanie from the time she was 12 years old”, but claimed he was busy attending to his son Zack’s needs – “because he was dying from his brain tumors”. George said Melanie is always seeking revenge for that mistake”.
Melanie said “during my childhood, I was also frequently subjected to emotional abuse in addition to the physical abuse. My dad constantly picked on me about not being very intelligent (I have dyslexia) and also that he did not think I was thin enough.”
“I ended up suffering from anorexia and bulimia from the age of 16 onwards. At my thinnest point from the disease (I was 97 pounds and 5’8”) my Dad asked me if I was worried that “my legs might break and go up my ass” or sing “Here she comes, Miss Ethiopia” to the Miss America tune when I would walk past him.”

Melanie’s mother Christina Gannett also claimed she was abused by her now ex-husband George Lazenby. Christina claimed George punched her in the face when she was five months pregnant and broke her nose when their son was dying from cancer.

Melanie first met Matthew at a party in New York City where they hit it off after a friendly conversation.
Months later Matthew reached out to Melanie to help him buy an apartment and that was where they properly connected. “I found him a great apartment and more importantly, we really got to know each other through that process. Shortly after he closed, we enjoyed a charming dinner in a Brooklyn restaurant and started dating. Speaking of Matthew’s proposal, Melanie Andrea Lazenby described the moment: “When we got to the top floor of the hotel – no one was there, there was no bar, just a candle lit staircase wrapped in flowers along the banister,” Melanie says. At the top of the stairs, there was a beautiful area filled with flowers where Matthew got down on one knee and proposed.”
They got married four months later on July 14, 2018. “The theme for the wedding was A Midsummer Night’s Dream as we sought to capture the romance and warm humour of Shakespearean Europe with enchanted candle-lit tablescapes, magical floral creations, mystical fairies, eclectic décor and elements of surprise and intrigue throughout the evening,” Melanie said.
