Kim Glass was attacked in Los Angeles by a homeless man just recently. In July 2022, her Instagram account confirmed her attack. The incident took place when Kim Glass was leaving a restaurant and a man threw a metal object at her and it hit her in the face. The metal object is suspected to be a pipe.

The man was identified by police as Semeon Tesfamariam. Kim Glass was later saved and the man was held until officers arrived to take him into custody. According to multiple sources, he was held without bail. Semeon Tesfamariam is said to be at the age of 51 years.

Speaking about the incident in videos shared on social media, Kim Glass said; “He just like looked at me with some pretty hateful eyes,” “It happened so fast, he literally flung it from the street, he was not even close to me at all.” Kim Glass shared several videos and photos showing her injuries to her eye, nose, and cheek.

Kim Glass had to get some stitches done. Semeon faces a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon that includes allegations of being previously convicted of a violent felony, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

It was not immediately clear whether Semeon had an attorney who could speak on his behalf or when he is scheduled to appear in court. According to sources, the USA Volleyball President and CEO Jamie Davis said in a statement on Monday; “USA Volleyball is appalled to learn of this weekend’s brutal attack on our Olympic medalist Kim Glass. Our thoughts are with her and we wish her a speedy recovery”.
