Carrie Ann Edwards is the daughter of Sharon (née Morrison) and Clarence Edwards. She is suspected to be born in the 1960s. She has two biological sisters, Jill and Eilleen Regina Edwards (Shania Twain). Her parents Sharon Morrison and Clarence Edwards got divorced for unknown reasons.

After the divorce, Sharon Morrison and her three girls, Carrie Ann, Jill, and Shania relocated to Timmins, Ontario. Sharon met Jerry Twain, an Ojibwa from the nearby Mattagami First Nation and they got married. Jerry adopted Sharon’s daughters and legally switched their surname to Twain.

Sharon and Jerry gave birth to their son Mark Twain. Jerry and Sharon went ahead to adopt Jerry’s baby nephew Darryl when his mother died. Sharon Morrison and Jerry Twain didn’t have an all-rosy marriage. Their union was stormy at times, with some violence between them.

Jerry is said to have been an abusive stepfather. Sharon struggled with bouts of depression. She eloped with her children to a homeless shelter in Toronto but later returned with the children to Jerry in 1981. They died on November 1, 1987, in an accident in Wawa, Canada. After Carrie Ann Edwards’ parents passed away, her sister Shania Twain decided to focus on raising her younger siblings and moved back to Timmins. She and her siblings went to Huntsville, Ontario.

Shania Twain supported her siblings until years later they moved out on their own. Much is unknown about Carrie Ann Edwards’ life after that. She stayed away from the limelight.
