George Jones and Shirley Ann Corley are parents of two children. Their children are Bryan Jones and Jeffrey Jones. The two chose different careers. Jeffery Jones owns a flooring business in Vidor, Texas, while Bryan Jones sells auto parts in Huntsville, also in Texas. Bryan and Jeffrey reportedly had a strained relationship with their father at some point in time in 1995.

Bryan Jones and Jeffrey Jones claimed that their father George Jones had denied them profits from some of his hits, which ended up in a federal lawsuit. The brothers, Bryan and Jeffrey said their father and Broadcast Music Inc., refused to honor the terms of his divorce agreement with their mother in 1968.

In the agreement, their mother Shirley Ann Corley was to receive half the rights to all songs written by George Jones and published or controlled by BMI before 1968. After Shirley passed away in 1991, the royalty payments stopped in 1992 and were reverted to George. According to the lawsuit, Shirley bestowed her share to her sons.

George Jones admitted that he failed as a father to his two sons. “That’s one of the things I really missed out on in life. On the road so much, you don’t get to know them.”

But all’s well that ends well, Bryan said he had accepted the demands that came from his famous father’s “music life.” He said, “George Jones was sent here to do country music, and he knew it.”

From George Jones’ third marriage to Tammy Wynette, he became a father to a girl child. On October 5, 1970, he and Tammy welcomed Georgette Jones into the world. Georgette is a singer-songwriter. “I have all these memories of — not just working for Mom then — but growing up on the road with one or both of my parents at different times. So I was flooded with a lot of memories of being on the bus and remembering those types of events.”
