Perry Damone is the son of Pier Angeli and her husband, Vic Damone. Perry Damone’s mother Angeli was an Italian television and film actress. Her American motion picture debut was in the starring role of the film Teresa, for which she won a Golden Globe Award for Young Star of the Year – Actress. His father Damone was an American traditional pop and big band singer, actor, radio and television presenter, and entertainer. He was best known for his performances of songs such as the number one hit “You’re Breaking My Heart”, and other hits like “On the Street Where You Live” and “I Have But One Heart”. Perry was not the only child of her parents.

Perry Damone is survived by his family, Nancy Damone to whom he was married for 21 years; father, Vic Damone, and wife, Rena; sisters, Daniella Woodard, Andrea Damone-Brown, and Victoria Damone-Leonard and immediate family. Perry is also survived by his aunts, Italian actress Marisa Pavan, and film coach Patrizia Pierangeli. Perry Damone left behind beloved friends who have ministered to him faithfully, Frank and Kathy Sinclair, Klynn Hoffmann, and many others.

How did his parents meet? Much information has been released about the circumstances under which they meet and fell in love. However, before getting married to Perry Damone’s father Vic Damone, his mother, Angeli was in another relationship.
Angeli had a passionate romantic relationship with James Dean who was also an actor. Much against her will, Perry Farinol’s mother was forced to break it off because her mother was not happy with their relationship as Dean was not Catholic a move that garnered great media attention.
Vic Damone married Pier Angeli in 1954. It was reported that Dean had watched the wedding from across the road on his motorcycle, even gunning the engine during the ceremony, although Dean later denied doing anything so “dumb”. The couple’s marriage however didn’t last long. They divorced in 1958. The reason for their divorce was never made public.

Six years after divorcing his mother, Angeli, Perry’s father was arrested on October 15, 1964, on Angeli’s charge that he had kidnapped their 9‐year‐old son Perry Damone and taken him from New York to Los Angeles. He was released three hours later after having pled not guilty to being a fugitive from a kidnapping charge. At the same time, a California judge awarded him custody of Perry. However, Angeli would ultimately gain custody of Perry and left Hollywood for her native Italy, taking Perry with her. Perry would however return to California after Angeli’s death.

In June 1971, at the age of 39, Perry Damone’s mother, Angeli was found dead of a barbiturate overdose at her home in Beverly Hills. On the day of her death, Angeli was given an injection of Compazine by her doctor. Death due to anaphylaxis has been suggested; however, it is not supported by the findings of her autopsy. She is interred in the Cimetière des Bulvis in Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine, France.
Perry Damone’s father, Damone suffered a stroke in 2002 and another health scare in 2008. He recovered from both and lived until 2018.
