A devastating news of a young police constable who was killed by armed robbers today when he was escorting a bullion van has taken over social media.
The disturbing incident was said to have happened at Adendepo in Accra close to James Town.
Narrative has It that, armed men on motorbikes ambushed a bullion van and murdered the police on duty by shooting him in the head leaving him dead instantly.
A woman whose house was closer to the scene selling by the road was also killed by robbers when she tried raising an alarm.
The story has thrown social media into mourning with people questioning why Ghana still allows modified pickups to be used as bullion vans than proper armored vehicles.
The Ghana Police service has since issued a release calling on the general public to help with information which will help to arrest the criminals.
A video of the supposed last moment of the young officer who has only been identified as Emma has hit online.
