Lara Kodjoe is famous as Boris Kodjoe’s sister. Besides Boris, Lara is also the sister of Patrick Kodjoe and Nadja Kodjoe. Her parents are Dr. Eric Ofuatey-Kodjoe (30.12.38 – 21.4.16) and his ex-wife Ursula Kodjoe. Her father Eric Kodjoe was a Ghanaian physician while her mother Ursula is a German psychologist of partially Jewish descent.

The date of birth of Lara Kodjoe is not known. She grew up alongside her siblings in the vicinity of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Her parents divorced in the year 1979. Her matrilineal great-grandmother was Jewish and was murdered in the Holocaust; her maternal grandmother survived the war in hiding.

Lara Kodjoe’s paternal grandparents are Chief of Police Joseph Cecil Ofuatey-Kodjoe and Elsie Ofuatey-Kodjoe. Her father’s mother was unable to see. She is said to have turned blind from a cataract and left it untreated. There isn’t any information about Lara Kodjoe’s childhood experiences and education.

Lara Kodjoe has stayed away from the limelight so much is unknown about her life. What she does for a living is unknown. As to whether Lara Kodjoe is the real sister of Boris Kodjoe is not known. We are not 100% sure if Lara was born to the same parents as Boris. It has been said that she was born in Croatia. However, some online sources claim that Boris’ parents Ursula Kodjoe and Eric Kodjoe gave birth to three children. It is uncertain if Lara is truly Boris’ sister.

What Happened To Her Father, Eric Kodjoe?

Lara Kodjoe’s father Dr. Eric Ofuatey-Kodjoe who was a Ghanaian decided to migrate to the US, looking for greener pastures. He was an immigrant who left his country to become a physician. He had made great contributions to his new home country through medical services and economically alike.

Eric Kodjoe had to endure endless racially motivated abuse even as the head of anesthesiology at his hospital. Other doctors questioned his abilities, patients refused to be examined by him. But he kept going, kept helping people, and kept saving the lives of those who wanted him to go back to his country.

Unfortunately, Eric Kodjoe is no longer alive. He died in April 2016 when he was 77- 78 years. The cause of his death is unknown. Her brother Boris Kodjoe wrote on Instagram: “I miss you already. Trying to numb the voices of all the should-haves and could-haves because they don’t matter now. I asked God to make your journey peaceful and joyous. No more pain, no more regrets and guilt.“
