Jason Dorsey is the son of legendary singer Engelbert Humperdinck. Jason Dorsey’s father is one of Britain’s most celebrated singers of all time. The pop singer has been described as “one of the finest middle-of-the-road balladeers around”. Achieving international prominence in 1967 with his recording of “Release Me“, Humperdinck has sold millions of copies of his hit songs. Beginning as a performer under the name “Gerry Dorsey” in the late 1950s, he later adopted the stage name of German composer Engelbert Humperdinck.

Jason Dorsey was born in the United Kingdom as one of the four children of  Engelbert Humperdinck and her lifelong partner Patricia Healey. Jason has three siblings- They are  Louise Dorsey, Scott Dorsey, and Bradley Dorsey. His parents wed in 1964 after the two first met at the Palais de Danse, a nightclub in Leicester in 1953.

Around the time the famous singer became a father, his singing career was also bigger than ever. He opened up to Closer Weekly about what it was like juggling his showbiz career with his new role of being a dad. He told- “That was a very hot time in my life. My traveling schedule was outrageous. One time, I did 80 concerts in a row!” he explained in September 2020. “It was hard. My four children were tiny.”

Sadly, there isn’t much information at all about Engelbert’s son Jason Dorsey. Although not much is known about the singer’s child, Engelbert has confirmed many times that he’s the dad of four children. “A daughter and three sons,” he once said, the Independent reported.

Jason has been spotted with the family on several occasions. Singer Engelbert Humperdinck appeared with his star at the Paris Las Vegas along with his sons Scott Dorsey and Jason Dorsey, his wife Patricia Dorsey, and daughter Louise Dorsey during Humperdinck’s Las Vegas Walk of Stars dedication ceremony on July 20, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The star was placed outside the resort on July 21. 

Engelbert Humperdinck also never misses a chance to show some love to his son on his special days. On December 19, 2015, the singer took to his Facebook to celebrate his son; He wrote- ” Happy Birthday to our son Jason. We send our love and God’s Blessings on this special day and number. May the fruits of life grow big in your garden. With Love,
Mum and Dad XXX ” With an attached throwback photo.

Sadly Jason Dorsey’s mother Patricia passed away in February 2021. In 2017, the singer revealed that Patricia had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for 10 years. His mother’s death came just two days after Engelbert asked for prayers following Patricia’s positive test result for COVID-19. “Her Alzheimer’s and the blow from Covid have left her in need of all the love she ever gave out to come back to her a million-fold,” he wrote on Facebook.

The singer later described how the family had prayed with her and blessed her with water from Lourdes before she “slipped softly away”. He also revealed Patricia was surrounded by their kids, Louise, Jason, and Brad, while Scott was “on FaceTime.”
