Gabriele Capone was born on 12 December 1865 in Angri, Salerno, Campania, Italy. He worked as a barber. Gabriele got married to a woman named Teresa Capone (née Raiola; 1867–1952). Teresa was born on 28 December 1867 in Angri, Provincia di Salerno, Campania, Italy. She worked as a seamstress.

Gabriele Capone Was An Italian Immigrant

Gabriele Capone and his wife Teresina Capone were Italian immigrants. They were both born in Angri, a small commune outside of Naples in the Province of Salerno. They had immigrated to the United States in 1893 by ship, first going through Fiume (modern-day Rijeka, Croatia), a port city in what was then Austria-Hungary.

The family settled at 95 Navy Street, in the Navy Yard section of Brooklyn, New York City. Gabriele Capone continued to work as a barber at a nearby barber shop at 29 Park Avenue. They moved to 38 Garfield Place in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Gabriele became a US citizen in 1906.

Gabriele Capone and his wife Teresina Capone produced nine children. Their children are Al Capone, Umberto Capone, Frank Capone, Ralph Capone, Richard James Hart, Matthew Capone, Mafalda Capone, Ermina Capone, and John Capone. Gabriele and Teresina’s son James Vincenzo Capone later changed his name to Richard James Hart.

Richard James Hart was born on March 28, 1892, in Angri, Campania, Italy. He was an Italian sharpshooter and prohibition agent, who was noted for his cowboy style. He died in Homer, Nebraska, in 1952, of a heart attack at the age of 60. He was buried in the Omaha Valley Cemetery in Homer.

Alphonse Gabriel Capone became known as Al Capone or by his nickname “Scarface“. He was born on January 17, 1899, in New York City, U.S. He was an American gangster and businessman who attained notoriety during the Prohibition era as the co-founder and boss of the Chicago Outfit.

Al Capone’s seven-year reign as a crime boss ended when he went to prison at the age of 33. He was convicted of five counts in 1931and his case was a highly publicized one. He was convicted and sentenced to 11 years in federal prison.

Al Capone showed signs of neurosyphilis early in his sentence and became increasingly debilitated before being released after almost eight years of incarceration. On January 25, 1947, he died of cardiac arrest after a stroke. Ralph and Frank worked with Al Capone in his criminal empire.

Raffaele James Capone was born on January 12, 1894, in Angri, Campania, Italy. He was an Italian-American Chicago mobster. He got the nickname “Bottles” not from involvement in the Capone bootlegging empire, but from his running the legitimate non-alcoholic beverage and bottling operations in Chicago. He died of natural causes in Hurley, Wisconsin, on November 22, 1974. He was cremated at Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth, Minnesota.

Frank Capone was born Salvatore Capone on July 16, 1895, in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. He was the third son of Gabriele Capone and Teresa Raiola. He was an Italian-American mobster who participated in the attempted takeover of Cicero, Illinois by the Chicago Outfit. He died on April 1, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, U.S, at age 28.

Gabriele Capone Died Before His Son, Al Capone Became A Famous Gangster

Per reports, Gabriele Capone died just before his son, Alphonse Gabriel Capone commonly known as Al Capone became a very famous gangster in Chicago. Al Capon joined the Five Points Gang as a teenager and became a bouncer in organized crime premises such as brothels.

Al Capon moved to Chicago and became a bodyguard and trusted factotum for Johnny Torrio, head of a criminal syndicate that illegally supplied alcohol. Al Capon was handed the control after Johnny Torrio almost got killed by North Side gunmen.

Al Capon expanded the bootlegging business through increasingly violent means, but his mutually profitable relationships with mayor William Hale Thompson and the city’s police meant he seemed safe from law enforcement.

Gabriele Capone passed away on the 14th of November 1920. He died at age 54 but the cause of his death is unknown.
