Elena Andrianovna Nikolaeva-Tereshkova is a Russian physician and the daughter of Valentina Tereshkova and the late Andriyan Nikolayev. Elena’s mother Valentina is an engineer, a member of the Russian State Duma, and a former Soviet cosmonaut while her father Andriyan was a Soviet cosmonaut. Elena is the first person with both a mother and father who had traveled into space.

Elena Andrianovna Nikolaeva-Tereshkova was born on 8 June 1964, in Moscow, Russia. She is 58 years old as of 2022. She holds Russian citizenship. Her parents are Andriyan Nikolayev and Valentina Tereshkova. Her mother is the 1st woman to fly solo into space.
Elena was born nearly one year after her mother’s space flight. She is the only child of her parents, meaning she has no siblings. Her parents married on 3 November 1963. Their lavish wedding was celebrated in a government mansion.
Nikita Krushchev, the Premier of the Soviet Union during that time, presided over the wedding. Guests including top government officials, fellow cosmonauts, and members of the space program were present to witness the beautiful ceremony.
This marriage was urged by the Soviet space authorities as a “fairy-tale message to the country”. General Kamanin, head of the space program, described it as “probably useful for politics and science”. For some reason, Valentina and Andriyan’s marriage started to fall apart.
They didn’t want to stand close to each other in photographs. In 1982, they got divorced. Valentina then married Yuliy Shaposhnikov who became Elena’s stepfather. Yuliy was a surgeon, Major General of the Medical Service, and the Director of the Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (CITO).

Valentina and Yuliy were married until Yuliy died in 1999, at age 68. Elena’s father Andriyan Nikolayev died on 3 July 2004, in Cheboksary, Chuvashia, Russia. He died of a heart attack at age 74. Elena’s educational details have not surfaced online but she graduated from medical school.
Elena Andrianovna Nikolaeva-Tereshkova didn’t often appear publicly. She confessed that her mother preferred she lived a normal life so she was hidden from the public. She said: “Mom wanted me to live a normal life, so she hid me. See? I’m alive and I’ve never been a monster.”
Elena became a physician. She works in the health service of Aeroflot Airlines. She worked as an orthopedic surgeon at the Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, CITO. She co-owned Pharmservice LLC, a subsidiary of Probiopharm LLC.
Elena’s partner is Dmitry Savelyev, a member of the Federation Council. “Pharmservice” is actively cooperating with LLC “Avan”, owned by Elena Tereshkova.
Personal Life
Elena Andrianovna Nikolaeva-Tereshkova has kept her personal life away from the spotlight. She is said to have been married twice and has two sons. Her first husband was pilot Igor Alekseevich Mayorov. They married in October 1995 and had a son Alexei.

Elena remarried, and again to a pilot. She married Andrey Yurievich Rodionov and they had a son, Andrei. She reportedly lives near Star City, the Russian aerospace center. She doesn’t like to be in the news and hardly appears at public functions or events.
