She is also known for playing Roxy Harvey on Dead Like Me and as Sheila “Grams” Bennet on The Vampire Diaries.

William Guy was pastor of the historic Friendship Baptist Church of Atlanta, which served as an early home to Spelman College. Aside from that he was also a college instructor in philosophy and religion. He was the pastor of the church from 1971-2007. His wife Jaye Rudolph was an English high school teacher.

William’s children chose different career paths from their mother and father. Jasmine became an actress, dancer, and director while Monica guy also pursued a career in television journalism and also did some acting. Monica also worked for her sister’s production company.

Jasmine’s parents were supportive of her career path

William Guy and his wife supported their daughter’s decision to become an actress. At the age of 17, she moved to New York City to study dance at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. It was called “A Different World,” Jasmine Guy told her mom, and she was trying out for the part of Whitley Gilbert, a snobby Southern belle. Later, when the show debuted on NBC Thursday night primetime, “Her father and I were watching it, and he said: ‘She’s almost carrying this program.’” William’s wife Jaye Rudolph told southcoasttoday.
