In a phone interview with Southcoasttoday, the actress’ mother revealed her father is an attorney and doesn’t like getting his hands dirty unlike her. She said-“I used to roam the meadows and woods freely. My father was an attorney, he didn’t like to get his hands dirty, and I liked to get my hands dirty, so I’d go visit the neighboring farmers and play with the kittens and get up on the horses and (take care of) the chickens.“

Jasmine Guy’s mother is not surprised that she is a talented actress.
In the same interview with the Southcoasttoday, the actress’ mother revealed her daughter has been exhibiting those talents at a young age. When the extended family comes together and played, they’d always have shows, which Jasmine would direct, and they’d entertain all the cousins, aunts, and uncles.
She told the portal- “Jasmine also used to entertain us by imitating everyone and have us guessing who she was. She would imitate everyone so well, that the bashful people used to scoot out when Jasmine was on” At the age of 17, Jasmine Guy moved to New York City to study dance at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. The “The Vampire Dairies” actress began her television career with a non-speaking role, as a dancer, in seven episodes of the 1982 television series Fame.

Aside from being a mother, Jaye Rudolph is also now a grandmother. She is the grandmother to Imani Duckett, Jasmine’s daughter with her husband Terrence Duckett. Jasmine Guy and Duckett got married in August 1998. Their daughter was born in 1999. On April 8, 2008, People reported that Jasmine and her husband Duckett were divorcing after ten years of marriage due to irreconcilable differences.
