Peter Marshall’s ex-wife mostly appeared in B-movies and guest roles on television. In most of her appearances, she used several names for her credits; among them were Sally Carter, Sally Carter Hunt, Sally Carter Ihnat, and Sally Ihnat. She is known for 1961’s The Phantom Planet, 1973’s The Red Pony, and 1975’s The Trial of Chaplain Jensen.
She went further to build her career in the film industry. From 1973 to 1976, Marya made several appearances on the crime drama The Rookies. In 1977, she also portrayed Nurse Farragut in the popular series Charlie’s Angels. In 1978, she snagged a minor role in the detective series Switch.

Marya Carter’s first marriage was with Donald Scott Michel (November 23, 1963—February 1967). The marriage ended in divorce; they had a child together before they called it all to quit.
Before Peter Marshall, Marya Carter was married to actor Steve Ihnat. Carter’s second husband was a character actor best known for playing Fleet Captain Garth of Izar in the Star Trek episode “Whom Gods Destroy”. The couple had two children including Stefan Andrew Ihnat before their marriage came to an end. Steve Ihnat passed away in 1972 from a heart attack.
