
Violet Ramis is an American writer, director, and actor and also the daughter of Harold Ramis. Violet Ramis’ father Harold was an American actor, comedian, director, and writer. His best-known film acting roles were as Egon Spengler in Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, and as Russell Ziskey in Stripes; he also co-wrote those films.

Violet Ramis’ Parents
How did Violet’s parents, Harold Ramis, and Anne Ramis meet? The couple have not given any account of the events that brought them together. However, the couple tied the knot on July 2, 1967, in married San Francisco. The couple got married in a beautiful ceremony in the presence of their friends, family, and loved ones. Anne Ramis was an artist.
Ramis and Plotkin separated in 1984 and later divorced. the reason behind their divorce was not made public. Her father later married Erica Mann, daughter of director Daniel Mann and actress Mary Kathleen Williams. Together they had two sons, Julian Arthur and Daniel Hayes in 1990 and 1994.
In May 2010, Violet’s father, Ramis contracted an infection that resulted in complications from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis and lost the ability to walk. After relearning to walk he suffered a relapse of the disease in late 2011.
Violet Ramis’ father died of complications of the disease on February 24, 2014, at his home on Chicago’s North Shore, at age 69. A private funeral was held for him two days later with family, friends, and several collaborators in attendance, including Dan Aykroyd, and the widows of John Belushi and Bernard Sahlins. He is buried at Shalom Memorial Park in Arlington Heights.
