Tina Denise Byrd was born on March 27, 1965, in the United States of America to her parents Tammy Wynette and Euple Byrd. As of 2023, she is 58 years old. She is not the only child of her mother. She has three other siblings- They are  Georgette Jones, Jackie Daly, and Gwendolyn Lee Byrd. Tina is the youngest daughter of the singer.

Tina was born three months early and weighed only 2 pounds and 3 ounces when she was born. After her birth, she was isolated in the hospital for 17 days after being diagnosed with spinal meningitis four months later. Her mother had to borrow several thousand dollars from her uncle to afford the hospital bills. Tina eventually made a full recovery. 

In 1975, Tina would record an album with her mother and stepfather titled George & Tammy & Tina. That was her mother and stepfather’s sixth collaborative album. She was just eight years old when she nailed this milestone. The young singer did not keep up with her music while growing up and has not been heard from since. Many songs from the album landed on the Billboard charts.

As a young singer, Tina Byrd is featured on two tracks: “No Charge” and “The Telephone Call.” In “No Charge,” Tina Byrd speaks lines to Wynette. “The Telephone Call” is a duet between George Jones and Tina Byrd where the two replicate a phone call with Tina Byrd speaking and George Jones singing.

Who is Tina Denise Byrd’s father?

Tina Denise Byrd’s father is Euple Byrd. Tina’s parents Wynette and Euple Byrd got married when her mother was just 17, one month before her high-school graduation. Her father was also five years her senior. Originally Wynette intended to marry Euple’s brother, D.C., but the relationship ended when he remarried his first wife. 

At the time of their marriage, Wynette was not yet of legal age so her mother would be required to sign the marriage paperwork, but she refused and instead forced her daughter to leave the family home. Wynette’s grandfather signed the papers that legalized their marriage.

 Unfortunately, Tina Denise Byrd’s parents fought throughout their marriage. According to sources, many of the couple’s marital conflicts boil down to Byrd being unable to hold down a steady job. The Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad singer couldn’t take it anymore, she asked her husband Euple to leave but he kept returning.

After one argument, Tina Denise Byrd’s mother suffered a “nervous breakdown”, according to biographer Jimmy McDonough, and her family took her to a psychiatric hospital. Doctors diagnosed Tammy with depression and gave her 12 rounds of electric shock treatment.

Upon returning from the hospital, the singer still insisted on filing for divorce. However, her mother disapproved and Wynette secretly moved with Tina and her siblings to Birmingham, Alabama. While in Birmingham, Her father returned and Wynette agreed to give their marriage one more chance.

However, things didn’t work out as their problems continued. The couple decided enough is enough and eventually called their marriage a quit in 1965. In one of their final encounters, Wynette told Byrd her ambitions of becoming a country performer. He then replied, “Dream on baby, dream on.” A decade later, Byrd appeared at one of her concerts. When he asked for her autograph, she signed it, “Dream on, baby. Love, Tammy”. 

Tina Denise Byrd’s parents would later see each other at family functions when her father once again began attempting to re-establish his relationship with her and her two siblings. In 1996, Tina Denise Byrd’s father was killed in a car crash. Her mother was also plagued by health problems throughout her life.

Tina Byrd’s mother Wynette passed away on April 6, 1998, while sleeping at her Nashville, Tennessee home. She was 55 years old. Her death was certified by her doctor, Wallis Marsh in his original report that she died from a blood clot in her lung.

    So much of this info supposed to be about Tina Denise Byrd is mixed up. Tina didn’t have shock treatments as reported here; Tammy did.
    You also report that Tina recorded (with George & Tammy) a couple of albums at about age 8 and was never heard from again. That is not true!
    Tina worked as a background singer on tour with her Mom for a good while! I have personally been at some of those shows.
    You really need to get your “facts” straight.
