She is a product of an affair between her father, John Joseph Nicholson (Jack Nicholson), and her mother Jeannine/Jennine Gourin. Her father is a retired actor and filmmaker while her mother was a waitress.

Tessa Gourin’s parents were never married. She is the only child of her parents but she has five half-siblings from her father’s side. Her half-siblings are Ray Nicholson, Lorraine Nicholson, Caleb James Goddard, Jennifer Nicholson, and Honey Hollman. Tessa is an actress. She said: “Since I can remember, I have always wanted to act. As a little girl, I would dress up as Orphan Annie and refused to take that curly red wig off.”

Tessa Gourin’s Father Hasn’t Acknowledged Her As His Child

Tessa Gourin’s father Jack Nicholson has never publicly acknowledged Tessa as his child. Tessa has shared details of her life as her famous father’s “illegitimate” daughter. She wrote an article on Newsweek that she grew up without her father and “she sat on the sidelines and watched in frustration as other celebrity children have seamlessly secured roles or been signed to huge agencies.”

Tessa Gourin revealed that she has “grown even more frustrated at what I think is a missed opportunity for these so-called “nepo babies” to own their position and embrace it instead of complaining about it.” She added that she has never had a relationship with her father although there was a time she flew from New York City to Los Angeles to meet him.

According to Tessa, it was always clear that her father “wanted no part in my life.” Despite everything, Tessa claims she holds “no bitterness toward” her father for his decision. Tessa says she doesn’t hide the fact that Jack Nicholson is her biological father however, it is also not something she “ever led with in a conversation.”

“So many people have been forced to live with the pain of a parent’s absence, famous or not,” Tessa continued. “But it makes it that much harder when that absent parent is actively in the lives of their other children, which is the case for me.” Tessa admitted that the “most frustrating part of my life is being described as Jack Nicholson’s “alleged” daughter or “illegitimate” child.”

Tessa shared that although her father has never publicly acknowledged that he is her biological father, she “exist in a very major way.” She added that for whatever reason, her father “isn’t interested in having a relationship.”
