
The President last night January 17, 2021, addressed the nation for the 22nd time. The country is currently facing a surge in the number of active cases. Schools will be reopening tomorrow and many are worried about sending their children back to school. Last night, the president sent a strong caution to Ghanaians on maintaining the safety protocols or face harsher measures.
1.Covid-19 active cases stand at 1924 with the death toll 352
2. Ghana recording about 200 new cases every day. Many of those affected
3. New variants of the virus found in some passengers who arrived at the airports. They are being examined. Apart from this most of the infected were those who attended parties and engagements and neglected the safety protocols.
4. IGP to charge his men to enforce the directives on the safety protocols. Nightclubs, pubs, beaches are all to be closed. Persons working in markets and public transport will be made to enforce the protocols.

5. Anyone caught will be dealt with by the law. Should the cases increase at the current rate impositions will be imposed.
6. The government is still testing and treating patients. Additional logistics have been given to the medical institutions to strengthen the charge to curb the virus.
7. Government is taking all the measures necessary to make sure school children are safe.
8. All senior High Schools have been mapped to health centers to manage the situation in case a case is detected.
9. The president charged all Ghanaians to be on the alert and protect themselves, especially children returning back to school. He warned them that if cases surge schools will be closed down.
10. God is working to get the needed vaccines and will show how it will be distributed when available.
