The board of the Vodafone Ghana Music Award(VGMA),imposed a ban on dancehall singer Stonebwoy and his colleague artiste shatta wale from participating in the award scheme, for causing a scene at the Accra International Conference Center during the VGMA awards night in 2019.
News popped up that,the indefinite ban placed on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy has been officially lifted.
The Head of Public Events and Communications of Charterhouse, Robert Klah mentioned in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that the board has intentions of lifting the ban placed on the two artistes.
Following the interview, the ban was lifted and the board released an official statement stating that the two artiste can participate in the award scheme and apply for nomination.
Award-winning Dancehall musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy has currently shared his views after the ban was lifted.
Stonebwoy shared a post on his twitter handle expressing his displeasure in the board’s failure to meet with their respective managements before the decision was made.
Stonebwoy wrote; Dear VGMA Board & Scheme organisers,I hear the purpose of the VGMA is to celebrate and project Ghanaian musicians and music.If that is so, it takes nothing from you to meet with us the artistes/ our reps b4 reaching decisions that affect us and communicating them to the public.
