Top Ghanaian model and entrepreneur Hamamat Montia can be described as one of the most successful models who still stuck to her routes and portrayed the Ghanaian and African culture to the world through her businesses and lifestyle.

Starting as a model, Hamamat was elected Miss Malaika in 2006 and model of Africa Universe in 2007.

She hails from Bolgatanga in the Upper East region of Ghana but proceeded toAchimota School where she had her secondary education.

The mother of two had some failed relationships in the past but she never allowed those failures ruined her.

Hamamat who is currently 33 years of age has a successful business in her hometown where she sells shea butter, organic soap and other products which are all handmade in Ghana by the women she works with.

After winning Miss Malaika 2006 at 18 years, Hamamat Montia has come a long way and is now one of the people we look up to when we talk about being natural and African.

She moved to her village after she left her marriage and became very broke so much so that, she couldn’t afford to live in the city with her 2 kids. After immersing herself in the village and accepted herself as one of them, she started to feel better about herself. One time when making shea butter with her people, she recorded a video and shared it online and for some reason, it went viral so much so that people started ordering shea butter from her.

She capitalised on that market and started Hamamat African Beauty where she now sells 100% natural, raw products which are handmade in Ghana. She sells Safari Shea Butter, Golden Shea Butter, Coconut oil, African Black Soap, Shea Butter Soap and Tongo Body Scrub worldwide.
