Sherri’s parents Sidney Poitier and Juanita Hardy got married on April 29, 1950. They got married in a beautiful ceremony in the presence of their friend, family, and loved ones. Sherri’s mother was a dancer. The couple welcomed four daughters together: Beverly, Pamela, Sherri, and Gina.
At the time of their marriage, Sherri’s father was working at a barbecue restaurant as he searched for a role that would lead to his big break. On January 6, 2022, Sherri Poitier’s Father passed away at his home in Beverly Hills, California, at the age of 94. His death was confirmed by Fred Mitchell, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bahamas. According to a copy of her father’s death certificate obtained by TMZ, the cause of death was cardiopulmonary failure, with Alzheimer’s disease and prostate cancer listed as underlying causes.
