Ahmad Rashad converted from Pentecostalism to Islam and changed his name legally from Bobby Moore to Ahmad Rashād. He adopted his last name from his Egyptian-American mentor, biochemist Rashad Khalifa, with whom he studied Arabic. Ahmad Rashad became professional after he was drafted by the Cardinals.
Ahmad Rashad went back to playing as a wide receiver and played for the Cardinals for two seasons.
