Sean Matthew Landon is the son of Michael Landon. Sean Matthew Landon’s father, Michael was an American actor and filmmaker. He is best known for his roles in Bonanza as Little Joe Cartwright, Little House on the Prairie as Charles Ingalls, and Highway to Heaven as Jonathan Smith. Landon was the only person to appear on the cover of TV Guide 22 times, second only to Lucille Ball.

Sean Matthew Landon is the youngest of all of Landon’s children and the second from his marriage to Cindy. Sean’s mother, Cindy Clerico was a makeup artist on Little House on the Prairie. Sean was born in 1986. As of 2022, he is 36 years old. He was only 5 years old when his father died. Sean went on to become a successful realtor who owns his own business.
Sean’s parents, Michael Landon and Cindy Landon (Clerico) got married in 1983 after they meet on the set of Little House on the Prairie. They got married in a beautiful ceremony in the presence of their friends, family and loved ones.
Sean Matthew Landon is not the only child of his father, his father was married three times, and father to nine children. Before his mother, his father first wife was Dodie Levy-Fraser (married 1956; divorced 1962). He then got married to Marjorie Lynn Noe (married 1963; divorced 1982) and then his mother.

In 1973, Sean Matthew Landon’s eldest step sister, Cheryl, was involved in a serious car collision just outside Tucson, Arizona, while a student at the University of Arizona. Cheryl Landon was the sole survivor out of four involved in the collision. She was hospitalized with serious injuries and remained in a coma for days.
Sean Matthew Landon’s father, Landon began to get terrible headaches on April 2, 1991, while on a skiing holiday in Utah. Three days later, he was diagnosed with exocrine adenocarcinoma, a particularly aggressive form of pancreatic cancer that had begun to affect the tissues and blood vessels around the pancreas. The malignancy was fatal and inoperable.
On May 9, he went on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson to discuss his disease and to criticize the tabloid press for its spectacular headlines and incorrect statements, such as the idea that he and his wife were trying to conceive another child.
Sean Matthew Landon’s father was committed to combat the sickness and requested his supporters to pray for him throughout his journey during his appearance on the show. He underwent successful surgery for a near-fatal blood clot in his left leg 12 days after his participation on the show.
His father featured on the cover of Life Magazine in June after giving the magazine an exclusive private interview about his life, family, and struggle to live. Landon died on July 1st, at the age of 54, in Malibu, California. Landon was laid to rest in a private family mausoleum at Culver City’s Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery.
Michael Landon’s headstone reads, “He seized life with joy. He gave to life generously. He leaves a legacy of love and laughter.” The remains of his son, Mark, were also interred there after his own death in May 2009.
