Roslyn’s sibling was born on June 1, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in New York City as he served in the United States Army. His parents are Elizabeth “Betty” Broder and Joseph Kleinman.
The .44 Caliber Killer, David Berkowitz was a serial killer who pleaded guilty to eight shootings that started in New York City on July 29, 1976. His span of crimes was from July 29, 1976, to July 31, 1977. He murdered six people and wounded seven others by July 1977 using a .44 Special caliber Bulldog revolver.
The killing rampage threatened New Yorkers and it became worldwide notoriety. He avoided the biggest police manhunt in the history of New York City while leaving letters that teased the police and promised further crimes, which became popular and highly circulated by the press.
Roslyn Falco’s half-brother was indicted for eight shootings and admitted guilt to all of them. He claimed he heeded the orders of a demon manifested in the form of a dog belonging to his neighbor “Sam” but later confessed that the dog-and-devil story was a joke.
He was found mentally competent to stand trial and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Three different mental health examinations specified that he was competent to stand trial. He was initially constrained to a psychiatric ward in Kings County Hospital after his arrest.

Yes, Roslyn’s sibling was arrested on August 10, 1977. David Berkowitz was found guilty and sentenced to six consecutive life sentences with the possibility of parole after 25 years, in state prison. He appeared gentle in court on May 8, 1978, as he pleaded guilty to all of the shootings.
He was sentenced to 25-years-to-life in prison for each murder, to be served consecutively, which was on June 12, 1978. He was ordered to serve time in Attica Correctional Facility, an Upstate New York supermax prison and his guilty plea made him eligible for parole in 25 years.

David Berkowitz was imprisoned at Shawangunk Correctional Facility but before that, he was taken first to Sing Sing prison, and then to the upstate Clinton Correctional Facility for psychiatric and physical examinations.
He was also admitted to Attica prison where he served for about a decade until he was relocated (c. 1990) to Sullivan Correctional Facility in Fallsburg. Following his arrest, his alternative name “Son of Sam” became widely known as that of a notorious serial killer.
