Ted Bundy’s daughter Rose Bundy was born on 0ctober 24, 1982, serving time on death row. Rose’s mother is known as Carole Anne Boone. Carole believed in her then-husband’s innocence and would visit him in prison. There are many theories trying to explain how Carole conceived. We will get into those theories.
Her mother Carole Ann Boone met her father Ted while serving at the Department of Emergency Services (DES) in Olympia, Washington. In 1974, they met as coworkers at the Washington State Department of Emergency Services in Olympia. Carole was initially attracted to Bundy, according to Hugh Aynesworth and Stephen G. Michaud’s The Only Living Witness, and despite his expressed interest in dating her, the relationship remained strictly platonic at first.
Bundy’s trial for the murders of Chi Omega sorority members Margaret Bowman and Lisa Levy took place in Orlando in 1980, and Boone was there as the serial killer’s own defense counsel. Bundy even called Rose’s mother to testify as a witness in his case. Rose Bundy’s soon-to-be mother had even lately relocated to Gainesville, approximately 40 miles from the prison, to be closer to Ted.
Rose Bundy’s mother, Boone allegedly not only arranged conjugal visits for Bundy but also smuggled narcotics and money into the prison for him. Finally, when Boone was testifying in Bundy’s defense, the criminal proposed to her.

In her “Ted Bundy Biography” book, The Stranger Beside Me, true-crime author Ann Rule discovered that an ancient Florida statute stated that a proclamation of marriage in court in front of a judge is considered a binding arrangement. The law student, Bundy discovered the loophole when the couple couldn’t locate a priest to officiate their vows, and administrators at the Orange County prison forbade them from using the facility’s chapel.
How did Ted Bundy and Carole Ann Boone have their daughter Rose from prison? As I said earlier there are many theories as to how they did it. One of the speculations, as reported by The Sun, is that Boone passed an empty cond*m through a kiss to her ex-husband, who filled it and later returned it via a kiss as well.
Other sources speculate that the pair bribed correctional officers to be allowed to have conjugal visits. At the time, conjugal rights were not allowed for criminals like Ted, but bribing correctional officers for conjugal visits was common according to former friend Ann Rule’s 1980 biography of Bundy, The Stranger Beside Me.
To many, it’s the case of bribery. Bribing guards was not only possible but also frequent, allowing the pair to have intercourse in numerous locations throughout the institution, including behind a water cooler, on a table in the prison’s outdoor “park,” and in many rooms where individuals allegedly walked into a few times.
The proof that serial killer Ted Bundy was able to marry and have a child while imprisoned for murdering multiple people, including a child, was shocking. It didn’t take long for the media to turn their attention to Boone in search of information about Ted Bundy’s daughter and how she got pregnant.
And this is what she had to say-“I don’t have to explain anything about anyone to anybody“
Rose Bundy, who is also sometimes named “Rosa,” was born on October 24, 1982. She wasn’t the only child Ted Bundy stood as a fatherly figure to. Her siblings are half-siblings from her mother and father’s side. She has a half-brother named James Boone, born to her mother from a previous relationship. Rosa also has a half-sister from her father’s side. Previously, Ted was in a relationship with Elizabeth Kloepfer, who had a daughter named Molly. Rose was Ted Bundy’s first and only biological child and her birth could not have happened at a more frenzied, media-heavy time in her father’s life.
The case of Rose Bundy’s father in Florida drew national attention. It was widely shown on television and drew a big audience. Many of those who turned up to his trial were young ladies who drew the killer’s interest, so it wasn’t just made up of angry people who came to denounce the man’s presence.
“There was an assumption about Ted’s victims: that they all wore their hair long, parted in the middle, and wore hoop earrings,” said Stephen G. Michaud in the E! True Hollywood Story on Ted Bundy.
“So, women would come to court with their hair parted in the middle, wearing hoop earrings. A couple of them even dyed their hair the right kind of brown…They wanted to appeal to Ted.” Bundy had actually gathered an unusual fanbase of groupies, which is not necessarily unheard of for a handsome, attractive, criminal like this.
Despite his disturbing celebrity and triple death sentence, his loyal wife brought their daughter Rose along on her visits to prison.
What happened to Ted Bundy’s daughter, Where is she now?
There are a lot of theories, of course, as to what precisely happened to Rose Bundy, Ted Bundy’s daughter. The young girl would be 38-years-old now as of 2021. How she spent her teens, where she went to school, what kind of friends she made, How does she feel about the father, or what she does for a living, has all remained a riddle?
Rose Bundy’s whereabouts are a mystery to date, with Ted daughter’s certainly keen to leave the shadow of her killer father and not have any association with the name, who knows what the families of the victims have in stock for her because of her father’s crimes.
Carole was shocked to hear the confession of her ex-husband, and she avoided visiting him in jail or even picking his calls.
Boone divorced Bundy in 1986, three years before he was killed, and moved to Florida with Rose and her son from a previous relationship, James.
Rose never spoke to Bundy again, and it is unlikely that she would have been permitted to speak with her father. Following the divorce, Boone faded from the public eye and received minimal news coverage.
As Ted Bundy’s kid, there’s a good chance Rose Bundy keeps a low profile on purpose. It would be tough to carry on a regular conversation at a party as the daughter of one of the most renowned killers in contemporary history. Some believe Boone remarried and changed her name to Abigail Griffin and now lives in Oklahoma, but no one knows for sure.
Rose may or may not be aware of the surrounding programs, such as the Netflix documentary series The Ted Bundy Tapes or the 2019 film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile.
Ann Rule made sure to solidify her attitude on the matter for anyone and everyone likely to have bothered her for details about the current life of Ted Bundy’s daughter in a 2008 reprint of her book The Stranger Beside Me.
“I have heard that Ted’s daughter is a kind and intelligent young woman but I have no idea where she and her mother may live,” she wrote. “They have been through enough pain.”

Rule eventually explained further on her website that:
“I have deliberately avoided knowing anything about Ted’s ex-wife and daughter’s whereabouts because they deserve privacy. I don’t want to know where they are; I never want to be caught off guard by some reporter’s question about them. All I know is that Ted’s daughter has grown up to be a fine young woman.”
In the Amazon Prime documentary series Falling for a Killer, where Carole’s face is shown, Rose’s face is shown as a blurry image. There are not many photos of Rose Bundy available.
