She didn’t know if it was cancer or not at the moment, but she hoped it wasn’t. Fans were reminded of Jenni’s discovery of lumps in her breast tissue only a year before her death. Rosa did, in fact, have cancer, according to sources, but she recovered completely.

Rosa Saavedra’s daughter Jenni died in an aircraft accident in the early hours of December 9, 2012, when the Learjet 25 she was traveling in with six other passengers crashed near Monterrey, Mexico. She was in the city to perform at Monterrey Arena the previous evening. After holding a press conference at the end of the show, she and four other staff and two pilots departed from Monterrey Airport at around 3:20am local time on December 9 to fly to Toluca, Mexico, for an appearance on La Voz… México. Around 15 minutes later, contact with the jet was lost, and later in the day its wreckage was found near Iturbide, Nuevo León. There were no survivors among the five passengers and two crew on board.

In her time, Rosa Saavedra’s daughter, Jenni took the Banda music scene by storm with her talent as a woman singing in a male dorminated category. She received two Oye Awards in Mexico and impacted many through her charity work. She was 43 years old at the time of her death.

Recently, in fact, Rosa Saavedra spoke out about the allegations against her sister, who is alleged to have acted inappropriately toward her great-niece.

Saavedra seemed reluctant to give the rumors any power, and instead stated that while the accusations didn’t surprise her, she didn’t think that it was her place to talk about it. Yet she elaborated that she isn’t on good terms with her sister, and doesn’t have any plans to be.

Aunt Pita Saavedra, who is reportedly gay, spoke up to defend herself, but the damage has already been done, according to fans of the Rivera family.

While Jenni’s mother’s interview took place while she was taking flowers to her late daughter’s grave, fans thought that it was time to leave the family in peace.
