Nivea and The Dream tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in December 2004. Though they promised to be together forever, things got sour along the line and the couple divorced in 2007. The Dream stated in an interview, “I decided to end it because I didn’t want to take this person [Nivea] and treat them a certain way based on what I was changing into, based on being bitter.”
Navy Talia Nash’s father said that although he was in love with Nivea, his lack of experience in a family growing up meant he was “not taught how much more than love [it takes] to run a relationship. Like, ’cause love isn’t just where it’s gonna end. It can’t start and stop with love. There has to be a certain amount of knowledge and patience that’s acquired in order to keep it going and keep it straight, and I found out the hard way.”
However, Nivea also said The Dream wanted the divorce, not her. “I’m lying, it’s not. We’re supposed to say that, but it’s not true. It wasn’t no mutual agreement, he wanted to do it, I didn’t, but it’s done. I’m dealing with it.” Nivea and The Dream’s divorce was finalized on June 15, 2008.
After their marriage came to an end, Nivea reconciled with her ex-fiancé, rapper Lil Wayne. The two had previously dated and gotten engaged in 2002, but Lil Wayne called off the engagement a year later. On June 9, 2009, it was rumored that Nivea and Lil Wayne were engaged and expecting a child together. On October 14, 2009, The rapper confirmed that he and Nivea were expecting a son, Navy Talia Nash’s half-brother, Neal Carter.
Navy Nash’s father, The Dream got married to Christina Milian on September 4, 2009, at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. He said in an interview that Nivea was still a good friend of his and that she was also friends with Milian.
Five months after their wedding and nine days before Christina gave birth to their daughter, Violet Madison Nash The Dream filed for divorce. The couple announced their separation on July 12, 2010, after photos surfaced of The Dream being intimate with his assistant. Their divorce was finalized on October 23, 2011.
