“My Family members have Disowned me for taking part In Date Rush” -Ali

Ali, one of the popular contestants of TV3’s Date Rush show, has revealed that his family has disowned him for participating in the show. He said some of his family members have cut all communication ties with him, and have also influenced other members not to associate with him.

Ali said the family members have expressed disappointment in him for going to look for love on national television, something that is against their culture as Muslims.

According to him, right from infancy, his family has discouraged him from pursuing any career that would put him in the limelight, precisely coming on TV. He disclosed that he received a strict warning never to venture into the entertainment industry when he started acting at an early stage.

“My family has not refrained from warning me not to go close to anything that would put me on TV. They have threatened to disown me if I should do that and up till now, they are not talking with me because I took part in Date Rush,”

Ali reportedly narrated. Despite the hostility from his family, Ali said he is least perturbed because he would not allow anybody to stop him from becoming what and who he wants to be.
