What Happened To Morgan Roof?

In 2018, Morgan Roof who was 18 years old at the time, was arrested in South Carolina after she allegedly carried a knife and pepper spray on school property. She was charged with two counts of carrying weapons on school property and possession of marijuana, per reports.
Morgan Roof is said to have made a Snapchat post that alarmed students. The incident happened on the day thousands of students nationwide walked out of schools to protest gun violence after Parkland, Fla., high school mass shooting. Morgan’s post read:
“Your (sic) walking out for the allowed time of 17min, They are letting you do this, nothing is going to change what (the expletive) you think it’s gonna do? I hope it’s a trap and y’all get shot we know it’s fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway.”
Morgan Roof was arrested and sent to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, per a source. She was reportedly released on a $5,000 bond but was not allowed to go back to school, per Wistv. The school’s principal, Susan Childs said in a statement to parents: “A student used social media to post hateful messages.”
“The posting was not a threat, but was extremely inappropriate. That student was dealt with in a swift and severe manner as the posting caused quite a disruption”, she said. Chris Slick, a government communications manager and a longtime neighbor of the Roofs, told The Post and Courier, “Tragedy has struck this family again.”
Chris Slick added that: “This is not the Morgan I knew. She didn’t hate people. She didn’t have prejudices like this — in fact, I witnessed the opposite. I hope that one day, one day she finds peace and seeks forgiveness for what she did today. I cannot say I wish the same for her brother.”

Morgan visited her brother Dylann in jail with their father, Franklin. Morgan is said to have said to her brother Dylann. “I love you, Dylann, even if you don’t love me back.” He responded: “OK.” Morgan was reportedly asked in 2017, on her Tumblr blog why she seem happy when her brother was sentenced to death.
Morgan Roof is said to have written: “Of course I care… but I’m not gonna let what he did effect (sic) what I do and how I live my life. I’m happy (because) I deserve to be. I have an amazing life and friends and support system. I went through and still have to deal with something unbelievably terrible that nobody understands. I choose not to let what he did ruin my happiness.”
