Lumis Albert Beyincé was born on May 22, 1910, in Delcambre, Iberia, Louisiana, United States to her parents Alexandre Beyincé and Marie Olivier. He died on 9 August 1982 at age 72 in Galveston, Galveston, Texas, United States. He died of lung cancer according to reports.
He was buried at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston. His occupation before retirement was as a longshoreman according to Wikitree. His wife Agnéz Deréon had predeceased him. She died of cardiac failure at the age of 71 on 4 July 1980.
Lumis Albert Beyincé was the second man Agnéz Deréon married
According to reports, in about 1926, at the age of 17, Deréon was married to Mervin Marsh, and by the 1930 census, the couple were living in Galveston, Texas, and had a 3-year-old daughter named Selina, and a 7-month-old son, Mervin Jr. who was born in Texas.
However, it appears the couple’s marriage didn’t work out and they split, because, in 1940, Deréon is back in Iberia Parish on Weeks Island, listed as the single, Agnes Buyince in a household with Loomis, her brother Joseph, and her two children from her first marriage.

It’s not clear when Lumis Albert Beyincé married his wife Agnéz Deréon. However, the April 6, 1940, US Census has them living with Agnes’ brother Joseph. Lumis is listed as Joseph’s brother-in-law, both Lumis and Agnes are listed as single while Joseph is listed as married without a wife in the household, and Agnes is listed with Lumis’ surname, “Buyince”. Also in the household are Agnes’ two children from her first marriage according to Wikitree. It seems likely they were married then.
His daughter Tina Knowles and granddaughter Beyoncé began a fashion line with the name House of Deréon. The style and concept are inspired by three generations of women in their family, with the name “Deréon” paying tribute to Lumis Beyincé’s wife, Agnèz Deréon was a seamstress. It was introduced in 2006. The junior line Deréon will be discontinued as of 2012.

According to Dailymail, both of Beyoncé’s maternal grandparents passed away before she was born however, the musician still holds them at heart. The Halo singer uploaded a picture each of Lumis Albert Beyince and Agnez Dereon to her Tumblr account in 2013, simply captioning the picture ‘My grandfather’ and ‘My grandmother’ followed by a heart icon.
