According to reports, Kathy was Quinn’s secretary. Talking about how they met, Kathy said- “I was just a year out of college at the time… I was looking for a job and someone that knew him… knew someone that I knew — it was just one of those things — and said he was looking for someone to help him. I had no idea who he was at the time. I was 23 and not from a ‘film family’. My parents were immigrants from Italy who worked very hard… So, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted to do but I needed a job, so I went to meet him.“
The actor had two children with her; daughter Antonia Patricia Rose Quinn (born 23 July 1993) and son Ryan Nicholas Quinn (born 5 July 1996). Mr. Quinn moved in with them per the New York Times. All this while, Quinn was then married to marriage to his second wife Addolori. The actor’s marriage with Addolori finally ended in divorce in August 1997. He then proceeded to exchange his vows with Benvin in December 1997 and they remained married until he died in 2001.

Quinn spent his last years in Bristol, Rhode Island. He died of respiratory failure (due to complications from radiation treatment for lung cancer) on 3 June 2001, in Boston, at age 86. The actor’s funeral was held in the First Baptist Church in America in College Hill, Providence, Rhode Island.
His wife, Kathy Benvin asked for the permission of Bristol authorities to bury him in his favorite spot in the backyard of his house, near an old maple tree. They had bought the property in 1995; it had a view of the Narragansett Bay. Permission was granted and he was laid to rest there.
Kathy didn’t remarry after her husband died. It wasn’t because she couldn’t either — she chose not to. “I wanted to raise them, knowing one father,” Kathy explains. “I’ve seen too many people who grow up with multiple parents, multiple influences… I think remarrying would have been more for my needs than the kids’. So I put my own life on hold for a bit.”

According to the Anthony Quinn Foundation’s website, it was started in 2007 as a way to promote the importance of arts education in the lives of young people. Kathy made the decision when she discovered, that as her children were growing up and were becoming less and less important in schools everywhere. “Music and art were up to the parents, more than the school,” the mum-of-two explains.
