Jeannette Swaggart Ensminger was born on 28 October 1941, in Ferriday, Concordia Parish, Louisiana, USA. She was the daughter of Willie Leon “Son” Swaggart and Minnie Bell Herron. Her father was a fiddle player and Pentecostal preacher while her mother was a minister and housewife. Her parents were married in the year 1934. She has an older brother Jimmy Lee Swaggart (b. March 15, 1935).

Jeannette’s younger brother Donnie Swaggart (b. 22 November 1939) died of pneumonia on 18 March 1940, when he was just 3 months old in Rio Hondo, Cameron County, Texas, USA. Not long after the family moved to Texas, Jeannette’s mother Minnie Belle Swaggart and little brother Donnie Swaggart contracted pneumonia and Donnie died weeks later. He was given a pauper’s burial.

She was in Mississippi having surgery when she died from a reaction to the anesthesia, according to sources.

Minnie Belle Swaggart took her last breath on 9 June 1960, in Mississippi, USA, when she was 43 years old. She was buried at Herron Family Cemetery, Clayton, Concordia Parish, Louisiana, USA. Jeannette Swaggart’s father Willie Leon Swaggart died on 25 April 1998, at age 83, in Clayton, Concordia Parish, Louisiana, USA.
