Who Is Jimmy Swaggart’s Sister, Jeannette Swaggart Ensminger?

Jeannette Swaggart Ensminger was born on 28 October 1941, in Ferriday, Concordia Parish, Louisiana, USA. She was the daughter of Willie Leon “Son” Swaggart and Minnie Bell Herron. Her father was a fiddle player and Pentecostal preacher while her mother was a minister and housewife. Her parents were married in the year 1934. She has an older brother Jimmy Lee Swaggart (b. March 15, 1935).

Jeannette’s younger brother Donnie Swaggart (b. 22 November 1939) died of pneumonia on 18 March 1940, when he was just 3 months old in Rio Hondo, Cameron County, Texas, USA. Not long after the family moved to Texas, Jeannette’s mother Minnie Belle Swaggart and little brother Donnie Swaggart contracted pneumonia and Donnie died weeks later. He was given a pauper’s burial.

After her brother died, Jeannette Swaggart Ensminger and her family moved back to Ferriday, Louisiana. Jeannette attended Assemblies of God churches in Ferriday and Wisner with her parents. “I do not plan in any way to whitewash my sin. I do not call it a mistake, a mendacity; I call it sin. I would much rather, if possible — and in my estimation it would not be possible — to make it worse than less than it actually is. I have no one but myself to blame. I do not lay the fault or the blame of the charge at anyone else’s feet. For no one is to blame but Jimmy Swaggart. I take the responsibility. I take the blame. I take the fault.”

Jeannette Swaggart Ensminger died on 19 July 1999, at age 57, in Concordia Parish, Louisiana, USA. What caused her death is unknown. She was laid to rest at Herron Family Cemetery, Clayton, Concordia Parish, Louisiana, USA. Her mother Minnie Belle Swaggart died after surgery. She was in Mississippi having surgery when she died from a reaction to the anesthesia, according to sources.

Minnie Belle Swaggart took her last breath on 9 June 1960, in Mississippi, USA, when she was 43 years old. She was buried at Herron Family Cemetery, Clayton, Concordia Parish, Louisiana, USA. Jeannette Swaggart’s father Willie Leon Swaggart died on 25 April 1998, at age 83, in Clayton, Concordia Parish, Louisiana, USA. He was also buried at Herron Family Cemetery, Clayton, Concordia Parish, Louisiana, USA.

Jeannette Swaggart’s brother Jimmy Swaggart is said to have died from blood cancer, according to a YouTube video. It was claimed that he died on June 13, 2023. However, the claims were found to be a hoax. Jimmy is alive and he is 89 years old as of 2024. He is enjoying his life with his wife Frances Swaggart, their son Donnie Swaggart, and his wife Debbie Swaggart, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
