McCord is the sister of Neal Albert McCord and Helen Smith. Dick Van Dyke’s mother passed away in 1992 at the age of 95.
Dick Van Dyke’s mother was a stenographer. Hazel Vorice McCord was married to Loren Van Dyke, a traveling Salesman for the Sunshine Biscuit Company. His wife told CNN he never fully recovered from a “horrible car accident” two and a half years ago in which he was “injured very badly.” The Van Dyke brothers were close throughout their careers.
