Phil Spector decided to surprise Ronnie Spector during Christmas by coming home with then five-year-old twins Gary Phillip Spector and Louis Phillip Spector as a ‘Christmas present’. Phil and Ronnie had previously adopted a son Donté Phillip Spector.
“We were in the car and all of a sudden we pull up to the mansion and there’s a fountain and there are these twins running around — these blond-haired, blue-eyed twins,” Ronnie recalls. “I’m saying, ‘What’s this?’ He said, ‘Merry Christmas!’” She added that Phil “never said, ‘Ronnie, what do you think we should do? Should we adopt twins?’”

Everything was a surprise, and no woman wants live children as a surprise,” she continues. “That’s when my mother came along.” Eventually, Phil Spector and Ronnie Spector’s marriage came to an end. Gary Phillip Spector has two half-siblings from his father’s side. His half-siblings twins Nicole Audrey Spector and Phillip Spector Jr. were born from his father’s relationship with Janis Zavala.
Gary Phillip Spector also has two half-siblings, Jason Charles Greenfield, and Austin Drew Greenfield from his mother’s marriage to Jonathan Greenfield. Gary Phillip Spector reportedly suffered abuse and trauma at the hands of his adoptive father, Phil Spector. Gary and his sibling Donté Phillip Spector, who was also adopted by Phil Spector stated that their father Phil “kept them captive” as children and “forced” them to “perform simulated intercourse” with his girlfriend.
According to Gary Phillip Spector, “I was blindfolded and sexually molested. Dad would say, ‘You’re going to meet someone,’ and it would be a ‘learning experience’.” However, after Gary’s parents got divorced, his father Phil got custody of Gary and his twin Louis and sibling Donté, per the Nypost.
Gary Spector Is Married
Gary Phillip Spector is a married man. He married his wife Julia Spector on March 12, 2018, in a beautiful wedding ceremony attended by their loved ones. Julia is said to be a former administrative office assistant and sales coordinator. How they met is unknown. Per a source, Gary proposed to Julia on November 5, 2017. They have a daughter called Amy. Gary Spector’s Parents Are Both Dead
Gary Phillip Spector’s mother Ronnie Spector and father Phil Spector are both not among the living. His father Phil who was convicted for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson and sentenced to 19 years to life in prison, died from the complications of COVID-19 in a prison medical facility, on January 16, 2021, at age 81.
After Phil Spector passed away, his ex-wife Ronnie Spector disclosed in an Instagram post: “It’s a sad day for music and a sad day for me,” adding that, “When I was working with Phil Spector, watching him create in the recording studio, I knew I was working with the very best. He was in complete control, directing everyone. So much to love about those days.”
According to Ronnie Spector, meeting Phil Spector “and falling in love was like a fairytale.” She revealed that “The magical music we were able to make together, was inspired by our love. I loved him madly, and gave my heart and soul to him. As I said many times while he was alive, he was a brilliant producer, but a lousy husband.”

“Unfortunately Phil was not able to live and function outside of the recording studio. Darkness set in, many lives were damaged. I still smile whenever I hear the music we made together, and always will. The music will be forever. Phil Spector 1939-2021.” Ronnie Spector died on January 12, 2022, at her home in Danbury, shortly after a cancer diagnosis, at age 78.
