How Old Is Finty Williams?

Tara Cressida Frances “Finty” Williams was born on 24 September 1972, in London, England. She will be turning 51 years old in 2023, on 24 September. She was named Tara Cressida Frances Williams by her parents Judith Olivia Dench (Judi Dench) and Michael Leonard Williams (9 July 1935 – 11 January 2001). Her mother Judi Dench is an English actress while her father Michael Williams was a British actor.

Finty Williams has zero siblings. She is the only child of her parents. According to her mother’s IMDb page, after Finty was born, her parents Judi and Michael tried to conceive another child but they were unsuccessful. The then-couple even tried to adopt a child but they were turned down. Judi Dench and Michael Williams were married on 5 February 1971. They remained together until Michael’s death separated them.

Michael died on 11 January 2001, at age 65, in Hampstead, London, England, from lung cancer. However, Judi was able to find love again after her husband died. She has not remarried but she has been in a relationship with David Mills, a conservationist, since 2010. In a 2014 interview with The Times magazine, Judi Dench said about finding love again:

“I wasn’t even prepared to be ready for it. It was very, very gradual and grown up. It’s just wonderful.” Judi and David have discussed marriage but they still decided not to marry. The two preferred living in separate houses.

She is the grandchild of Eleanora Olive (née Jones) who was born in Dublin and Reginald Arthur Dench MC & Bar (1897–1964) who was a doctor from Dorset who grew up primarily in Dublin and who fought on the Western Front in World War I.

Finty Williams has had drinking problems. She chose alcohol to help her deal with her father’s death. She struggled to cope with the death of her father so her mother helped her and took her to rehab. She said: ”After my father died in 2001 it just all went horribly wrong.” She said: “My mother very bravely put me into rehab two weeks after my father died.”

Finty Williams confessed that she was addicted to alcohol even at the time she was a student at drama school. ‘I was 18 and had an inverted light bulb moment where I thought that nothing I could do or say or how I looked was ever going to be good enough. I was surrounded by very beautiful people — they still are very beautiful people’, Finty said.

She added that: “At that point, I thought: ‘If they’re really drunk, then they won’t notice that I’m really, really boring and short and round — and don’t look like a dancer and all of those things. These are extraordinary people who are all really talented and really funny and really clever and I don’t belong here. And I’m none of the above.’

”The way I got through thinking that I was very boring and very unsparkly was by being the first person in the bar and being the person that bought the drinks for everyone.” Finty Williams was charged with drink-driving in 1998 and 2005. However, by 2022, she had celebrated her third year of sobriety.

Finty Williams is a mother. She gave birth to a son Sam Michael Williams, on June 6, 1997. Her son’s father is unknown to the public.
