Suspended member of Ghana’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Koku Anyidoho has sought to explain the real reason behind Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s resignation.
Yesterday, a piece of shocking news broke announcing the immediate resignation of the North Tongu MP from being a member of the Parliament Appointment’s Committee (PAC); one of the most important committees in the house.
Per the content of the resignation letter by Mr. Ablakwa, he decided to resign based on “careful reflection and thoughtful consideration”. He added that his decision was based on principle.
This assertion, Koku Anyidoho believes is not factual. According to him, Mr Ablakwa is throwing dust into the eyes of Ghanaians if he said he resigned based on principles especially when in reality he has zero principles.
Koku Anyidoho in a tweet explained that Mr Ablakwa was recruited by Mahama as a sharp mouthed fellow to be hurling insults at the late former President Rawlings; an action he religiously did which defeat his words that he has principles.
Koku Anyidoho believes Mr Ablakwa should stop tagging himself as the “principled one” when he has not apologized for insulting and castigating President Rawlings. In a nutshell, Koku Anyidoho believes Mr Ablakwa did not resign based on personal convictions and principles and shared a portion of a script.

The script presupposes that Mr Abakwa was again engaged in some personal wrangling with the leadership of NDC in the house which is why the party has announced that it will be changing its leaders in parliament.
Koku Anyidoho’s post supports the speculation that Ablakwa resigned because he was not happy with the leadership from the Minority Caucus especially Haruna Idrissu and Muntaka Mubarak.
He wrote: Where was the supposed “Principles” when as a supposed son of the of Volta Region, he was “recruited” to be hurling insults at Jerry John Rawlings – a true son of Volta; longest-serving President of Ghana, & Founder of NDC? He should apologize before talking about Principles.
