Elvis’s grandmother Bula was sent to Auschwitz, where she was murdered not long after arriving. Ryszard survived the Holocaust and was later reunited with his son. Her first film with her future husband was the 1988 mystery thriller ‘Frantic,’ in which Harrison Ford also appeared. Polanski and Seigner collaborated on four more films over the years: ‘Bitter Moon’ (1992), ‘The Ninth Gate’ (1999), ‘Venus in Fur’ (2013), and ‘Based on a True Story’ (2017). She turned down several Hollywood projects after the success of ‘Frantic,’ believing that neither her English nor her acting was good enough. Instead, she chose to work almost entirely in the French film industry.
