Charles Patton is an American Attorney and also the father of Paula Patton. Charles Patton’s daughter is an American actress and producer. She is known for her debut in the 2005 comedy Hitch and has had starring roles in the films Déjà Vu, Precious, Jumping the Broom, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, 2 Guns, Warcraft, and Sacrifice.

Charles Patton is Black of African descent and the son of sharecroppers who worked his way up to become a Lawyer. Charles had his daughter Paula with Joyce Vanraden. She is a schoolteacher. Charles’ partner Joyce Putton is white, and of German and Dutch descent. This makes their daughter Paula multiracial. Charles has a grandson whose name is  Julian Fuego Thicke

Paula has a special bond with her father and she revealed his father’s favorite quote is “Veni, Vidi, Vici” (I came, I saw, I conquered). The actress also revealed in an Instagram post that his father started from a humble beginning and worked his way to the top and became a Lawyer.

Paul revealed his father used to pick cotton in Como, Mississippi as a child. At the age of 18, Charles Patton drove from Mississippi to California. He worked nights at a juvenile hall and the post office to pay for his tuition and he made his dream come true by becoming a Layer. 

Patton became a public defender because he believed so many accused black men did not get a fair trial or good representation. To change this, he took it upon himself to become a Lawyer in other to defend these innocent people. He later opened his own private practice.

Paula Putton took to her Instagram to share her father’s photo with her almost 500k followers. She captioned it “

That was my father’s favorite quote.

The actress went on to say-

On the first day of Black History Month, I want to acknowledge my Father, Charles Patton. The son of sharecroppers, he grew up picking cotton in Como, Mississippi. He had a dream of becoming a lawyer. At 18, my father drove to California. He worked nights at a juvenile hall and the post office to pay for his tuition and he made his dream come true. He became a public defender because he believed so many accused black men did not get a fair trial or good representation. He later opened his own private practice. He died on May 5th, 2020.”

What happened to Paula Putton’s father?

The actress revealed his father Charles Putton died on 5th May 2020 in the United States of America. The actress did not give exactly what happened to her father that lead to his death. The cause of his death still remains a mystery to the general public.

The actress’ mother Joyce recently turned 80 and she once again took to her social media to celebrate her. She shared a picture of her with the caption “Happy 80th Birthday Mom!!! You still got it…hot mama!”
