Betty Seinfeld was born on 12 December 1915, in Aleppo, Mount Simeon District, Aleppo, Syria. She is the daughter of Selim Hosni, a joiner, and Salha Hosni, a homemaker. Her parents were Jews from Aleppo, Syria. Her father Selmin was the son of Ezra Husney and Esther Sartell, per sources.

Betty’s mother Salha was the daughter of Sma Kassin and Garez Dayan. Salha’s mother Garez Dayan was a member of the Dayan rabbinic family, who trace their paternal ancestry back to the Medieval Exilarchs, and from the Exilarchs back to the Biblical King David.

Betty is the sister of Orizia. She reportedly had another sister named Nasar “Jimmy” Hosni and half-sisters Grace Hosni and Sarah Anastasio. She was married to Kálmán Seinfeld, a sign painter who also served in World War II. She assisted her husband in his profession of sign-making. She was a tailor.

The couple operated their sign-making shop Signfeld Sign. Both Betty and her husband Kalman grew up as orphans. Betty and Kálmán Seinfeld were married until Kálmán passed away. Kálmán died on 31 January 1985, at age 66, in Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA.

They are the parents of Carolyn Liebling and Jerry Seinfeld. Carolyn has been her famous brother Jerry’s talent manager. Jerry born Jerome Allen Seinfeld is a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and producer. He is best known for playing a semi-fictionalized version of himself in Seinfeld (1989–1998).
