Aria Alpert is an actress and the daughter of Herb Alpert. Aria Alpert’s father is an American trumpeter who led the band Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass in the 1960s. Aria’s mother, Lani Hall is a singer, lyricist, and author. From 1966 to 1971 she performed as lead vocalist for Sérgio Mendes & Brasil ’66. In 1972 Hall released her first solo album, Sun Down Lady. Her mother is perhaps best known for providing Sérgio’s group with the most recognizable (female) face and (female) vocal signature sound during her tenure, as well as for her rendition of the theme song to the 1983 James Bond film, Never Say Never Again, with its accompanying video, in which she appears prominently. Their records grew to become the world’s biggest independent label; among its greatest successes were the Carpenters, Cat Stevens, Joe Cocker, Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66, the Police, Supertramp, Peter Frampton, Styx, Janet Jackson, and many others making him a household name.

She portrayed Rosalind Franklin in Anna Ziegler’s award-winning play Photograph 51 at the Fountain Theatre in Hollywood, CA.

Herbs’ daughter revealed her childhood was very different, and one that she did not want to repeat. She revealed her parents were both focused on their careers and traveled and worked all the time, so she was raised by a nanny and felt more connected to her than my parents when I was young.
