Alexis Klementieff is said to have met his wife on the street in Seoul. According to a source, Alexis met his wife when he visited Seoul in the mid-1980s. “My mother is completely Korean, and my father is Russian and French. The name is similar in pronunciation to the Korean words for both “spring” (봄) and “tiger” (범). The family had numerous homes. The family lived in Canada for about a year and then, they ended up traveling and relocating to other places due to the nature of Alexis’ job.

They lived in Japan and Ivory Coast before settling in France. According to Alexis’ daughter Pom Klementieff relocating from one place to another as a child gave her a “gypsy soul.” She said: “I mean that in a good way. No, I don’t smoke weed. It just means that I can be comfortable anywhere. I can go from one place to another and be comfortable.”

She also said: ‘I think it helped me to adapt to different cultures, to different worlds, and to different types of people. And in some way, it’s funny, because I’ve always felt like an alien, I’ve always felt different. When I lived in Japan, my mother was Korean and I was mixed. I was also not like them when I was in Africa and I was not like them either when I was in France. I was always the person from somewhere else, like an alien, like Mantis.’
