Alberto Bravo happens to be one of the men drug lord Griselda Blanco Restrepo married. Alberto kept information about his life away from the public domain. Alberto Bravo was a drug trafficker. He met Griselda Blanco and they eventually got married in 1970. Alberto became the second husband of Griselda. Griselda was previously married to her first husband, Carlos Trujillo from 1960 until 1969 when they got divorced. Carlos later passed away and Griselda is said to be responsible for Carlos’ death.

After Alberto Bravo and Griselda Blanco got married, Alberto became the stepfather of Griselda’s three sons, Uber Trujillo, Dixon Trujillo, and Osvaldo Trujillo. Uber, Dixon, and Osvaldo are Griselda’s sons from her marriage to her first husband, Carlos Trujillo. Alberto who was a cocaine dealer reportedly introduced Griselda to the business.

Through Alberto, Griselda became involved in the cocaine trade. Illegally, they moved to Queens, New York, in the late 1960s. There the couple came up with a smuggling business under cover of Alberto Bravo’s clothing import company. They had lingerie made with secret parts used to smuggle drugs. They made profits and the business was booming.

Alberto Bravo and Griselda Blanco who had no children together, soon became multi-millionaires. They were able to fly huge “consignments into the U.S. in their own planes, employing some 1,500 dealers to sell it”, according to Daily Mail. Griselda moved to Colombia as she suspected her arrest. She felt that her husband Alberto was stealing from their business.

Per the Daily Mail, Griselda also suspected that Alberto was cheating on her. She and Alberto had a shoot-out, which led to Alberto’s demise. In 1978, Griselda married her third husband, Darío Sepúlveda. She and Darío have a son Michael Corleone Blanco. Darío left Griselda in 1983. They didn’t agree on who would have custody of their son Michael.

Darío Sepúlveda returned to Colombia and kidnapped their son Michael. Griselda paid to have Darío eliminated. Darío was assassinated in 1983, in Medellin, Colombia. Darío is said to have been shot in his car as Michael sat next to him. Michael was returned to Griselda. And again, Griselda lived up to her nickname the “Black Widow” as she was suspected to be responsible for the deaths of the men she married.

How Did Griselda Blanco’s Second Husband Die?

Alberto Bravo was killed during a shoot-out between him and his wife Griselda Blanco. He died in the year 1975. According to Daily Mail, what happened was that Griselda called Alberto to meet her in a car park after she suspected that he was cheating and stealing from their business. She pulled out a pistol and shot him.

Alberto Bravo is said to have hit Griselda Blanco in the stomach after he fired his Uzi submachine gun. Griselda was eventually arrested on February 17, 1985. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison on drug trafficking charges. In 2004, she was released and deported to Medellín. She lived a private life and stayed away from the spotlight.

Griselda Blanco’s family claimed she became a born-again Christian. She was killed on September 3, 2012, at age 69, in Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia. She was shot twice by an assassin on a motorcycle. She was killed in the same motorcycle assassination style that she was credited with creating. She was buried at Cemetario Jardins Montesacro, Itagüí, Municipio de Itagüí, Antioquia, Colombia.
