Alaster Bentley’s father is Jack Bentley. His father was a popular English trombonist, journalist, and scriptwriter. Jack Bentley played trombone as part of the brass section of Jack Hylton’s Orchestra and Ted Heath’s big band from 1937 until the mid-1950s. He later became the show business editor of the Sunday Mirror newspaper.
How did Wendy Craig and Jack Bentley meet?
According to Dailymail, the two meet at a party given by the West End star Bobby Howes. She was more than twenty years his junior. The couple got married in a beautiful wedding ceremony in the presence of their friends, families, and loved ones.
At the time of their wedding, Craige was appearing in the West End, so she had to dash off to do a show, and then we went to the Savoy Hotel’s honeymoon suite. Jack always backed her career, and she believes she could totally rely on him. The couple had three children, Ross, Alister, and Rosie.

His brother Ross is also an IT consultant. Craig had her Ross Bentley as the result of an affair with John Mortimer. In 2004, having heard that the secret she has been holding for years was out, Wendy visited Mortimer to reveal formally that their affair had resulted in a son, then 42.
