Apart from her love for singing she also developed a love for acting at a very young age and Akosia Sabet’s dream came true when she made her acting debut in 2018 in the movie Winchester. Since then she’s carried on with acting credits in Secret Bridesmaids’ Business (2019) and Clickbait (2021).

New images from the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Thor: Love and Thunder have revealed an Easter egg cameo. Photos from Taika Waititi’s film have surfaced online, depicting MCU gods in assembly. Perhaps they are meeting to address the issue of the film’s main antagonist Gorr, played by Christian Bale.

The image depicts Natalie Portman as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Akosia Sabet as the popular Black Panther goddess Bast.

The Panther Goddess Bast is all set to make her first appearance in the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder. The Panther Goddess, is to be played by Akosia Sabet.

The origins of the Panther Goddess Bast

“A warrior shaman received a vision from the panther goddess Bast, who led him to the Heart-Shaped Herb, a plant that granted him superhuman strength, speed and instincts. The warrior became king and the first Black Panther, the protector of Wakanda.”―N’Jobu- Do you remember these lines in Black Panther?

Bast’s first appearance was in the opening scene of Black Panther. When the narrative of the Black Panther is presented at the beginning, the Panther Goddess is shown as a panther. T’Challa would then bring her up again when explaining his culture.

“In my culture, death is not the end. It’s more of a stepping off point. You reach out with both hands and Bast and Sekhmet, they lead you into a green veld where… you can run forever.”―T’Challa

According to Wakandan legend, when the five tribes fought for control of Wakanda, Bashenga received a vision from Bast, which led him to the Heart-Shaped Herb, granting him the power to become the king and the first Black Panther. In Wakandan mythology, when the soul of a man reaches the afterlife, it is brought by the goddesses Bast and Sekhmet to a mythical green valley, where it can run freely and in peace, for all eternity. T’Chaka believed in this myth, while his son T’Challa apparently did not until he met his father in the Ancestral Plane.

With her appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder, we can certainly expect Bast and Akosia Sabet to appear more now that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is also coming out this year. It appears that Marvel is setting her up in this film to tell more stories with her down the line.
