“The Refund Is Not Enough, She Must Face The Court” – Asiedu Nketiah

The General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has revealed that First lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo must face court actions for taking illegal payments if the money she has refunded is what was recommended by the Ntiamoah Baido’s Committee.

Asiedu Nketiah made this statement on ‘THE GUMBE SHOW’ on XYZ television yesterday, 13th July 2021, when he gave his opinion about the refunded salaries of Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

According to him, we must ask Rebecca Akufo-Addo if the money she has refunded is the money Kojo Oppong Nkrumah talked about or it’s different money because Kojo Oppong Nkrumah told us they will pay her and backdate it from 2017.

“She has paid a refund, backdating from 2017. So, is her refund different from what Kojo Oppong Nkrumah told us? We need explanations from her. What did the Minister tell us? He said the government is going to pay their salaries and backdate it from 2017. This means the money the minister is talking about hasn’t been paid yet.

So, what refund has Rebecca Akufo-Addo paid back? If the refund is the same as what Kojo Oppong Nkrumah told us, then she received illegal money, and if it’s illegal money, then the refund is not enough, she must face the court.”

He added that It’s been five years since she has been receiving that payment. If she hadn’t received public bashing for the money, would she have refunded it?
