“Tell Your Mother To pay our Money Rather” – Netizens ‘Fire’ Farida Mahama Over Cathedral Contribution

The internet has been a crazy and the same time fan place to be. People expressing their opinions on issues with others people also serving them with counter answers.

You can wake up in Ghana without a debate, there is always something to talk about in this country.

There is still so much confusion over calls by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta for Ghanaians to contribute towards the construction of the National Cathedral. In his delivery of the Mid-year Budget yesterday, the Finance Minister called on Ghanaians to contribute 100 cedis monthly towards the building.

Farida Mahama, daughter of former President, John Mahama has waded into the issue. In a Facebook post, Farida asks Ghanaians whether they will pay for the construction of the Cathedral. The Cathedral is expected to be opened in March of 2024. The question though harmless drew a host of comments. Whereas many claimed that they will not pay towards the building, a few others were positive.

There were also interesting comments such as calls for Farida to tell her mum to refund the monies she took as the wife of John Mahama during his tenure in office.

Check out some of the interesting comments that followed the post.
