Though she admires her father Susie Nelson will not marry him. “It’s real hard,” Susie told Orlandosentinel. “I wouldn’t marry him. I love him as my dad, but I wouldn’t marry him. That’s only because his life is not his own, and that makes you just a little part of his life because his world is so big.“
She also revealed can only remember her father spanked her only once but she didn’t cry but her father did. Susie narrated how she want sent to fetch her younger brother Billy but they decided to do things their own way and spend some time playing with other kids. “There was a country Texaco station up the hill behind our house where we liked to get sodas. One afternoon Billy had gone up for a soda. It was getting time for supper, so Dad sent me to get him. . . . Billy and I ran into some other kids and stayed out and played until after dark.“

Susie Nelson went on- “When we got home, Dad took us by the hands and marched us to the bedroom. ‘This is going to hurt me worse than it does you,’ he told us. . . . He spanked me first. I didn’t cry. Then he spanked Billy, who started crying. Then Dad started to cry. Billy looked up at him through his tears and said, ‘Don’t cry, Dad. It didn’t hurt very much. ” Her mother Martha Mathew passed away around Christmas 1989, and her younger brother Billy Nelson also passed away two years later in1991.
