Simone attended The Spence School and Northwestern University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Sciences.

She was in a Legal Intern position at the United States Department of Defense with the Office of Military Commissions in the Office of the Chief Prosecutor. She disclosed that at halftime when she went to get food, she and one friend, Isabel noticed that people weren’t allowed to leave the stadium and that there were ambulances present at the stadium.
Simone said: ‘I’m shaking still. Yeah, that was probably the scariest thing I ever had to deal with. We don’t speak French so all the police officers couldn’t help us we didn’t know what to do’.
Meanwhile, Geraldo was supposed to fly out to Paris with his daughter for the Thanksgiving holiday but in the wake of the attack at the stadium and a concert hall, he prefers his daughter home. ‘Do you want to come home honey?,’ Geraldo asked his daughter on live television.
‘I do. I wanna come home,’ she said. ‘I’m gonna come get you tomorrow,’ he said. ‘I don’t know if I can go home. The borders are shut aren’t they?’ Simone asked. ‘I know the borders are shut, the airports are shut,’ Geraldo said. Geraldo added that he had a plane waiting for him on Saturday morning but the French airspace was closed.
In tears, Geraldo Rivera revealed that his daughter and her friends were able to escape the horrible events. He said: “It’s very upsetting. It’s a lot easier to report these things and to experience them myself than if it is your child.”She heard the three explosions near half time”.
He added: “I just thank God she wasn’t at the rock concert, but was at the soccer stadium where, because of the President’s presence, there was considerable security. You can imagine what it was like for us as parents, waiting for her to communicate with us. We are very concerned. We won’t rest until she is in her apartment.”
Two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the Stade de France sports stadium where the French football team was playing Germany. Over 150 innocent people were killed in a series of coordinated terror attacks. It was later revealed that suicide bombers possibly with ties to ISIS perpetrated the attacks.
It was confirmed that 118 people who were held hostage, perished at the Bataclan where they had gathered for a concert by the American band, Eagles Of Death Metal, and 11 were shot down at a Cambodian restaurant. More than 200 people were admitted to the hospital, and half of them have serious injuries.
Four of the attackers were killed in the concert hall, three by activating their suicide vests, and one shot by police – four policemen were killed during the operation. Three more attackers died near the national stadium and a fourth was killed in a street in eastern Paris, a source close to the investigation said.
According to one suspected attacker who was arrested by the French police, he was recruited by ISIS alongside three other extremists. The French President, Francois Hollande declared a national state of emergency following what he called ‘unprecedented terror attacks’, shut its borders, and deployed 1,500 extra troops to the capital.
